NOFA XI – The 11th Nordic Conference on Subject Education will take place at Uppsala University, Sweden, on April 14–16, 2027.

Under the theme Disciplinary Knowledge and Democratic Responsibility: Reimagining Subject Education for a Changing World, the conference invites researchers, doctoral students, teacher educators, teachers, and educational stakeholders to discuss how school subjects and subject didactics can contribute to knowledge, Bildung, and democratic agency in contemporary societies.

We welcome disciplinary and interdisciplinary contributions from the Nordic countries and beyond. The conference will include keynote lectures, paper sessions, symposia, roundtables, workshops, posters, and opportunities for scholarly exchange across subject areas and educational traditions.
